Caribbean Film Festival Visits St. Vincent in March

Eight island nations are playing host to a Caribbean film festival from February through May. The event kicked off in St. Kitts and Nevis on February 22, and wraps up in Cuba May 31.
The first-ever “Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase” is a joint effort of UNESCO and the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematographic Industry. The 12-week event will feature film-makers from more than 15 countries who produced short films and documentaries about people, issues and culture in the Caribbean.
The Showcase schedule:
St Kitts and Nevis, February 22 – 26
St Vincent and the Grenadines, March 26 – 31
Dominican Republic, March 22 – 28
Jamaica, April 1 – 8
St Lucia, April 13 – 20
Belize, April 19 – 22
Bahamas, May 7 – 12
Cuba, May 27 – 31
The films are subtitled in English, Spanish, French and French Creole. and are expected to promote Caribbean cultural identity and raise awareness to the potential of the Caribbean filmmaking industry.
