Notice is hereby given that after expiration of eight days APPLICATION will be made in the Principal Probate Registry of the High Court of Justice for the Sealing of the Probate of the Will of EDMERSTONE JACK DAVY late of Kingstown in the Island of St. Vincent, British West Indies, deceased, granted by the High Court of Justice, St. Vincent aforesaid on the 11th day of March 1933. RUDD, John
ESTATE SETTLEMENT
Times of London for 14 May 1862
Newspaper notice of settlement of estate of John RUDD names his wife as Mary MALLOCK and his children as Frederick William RUDD, John Wilcox RUDD, Samuel Elboden RUDD and Sarah Ellen HODGKINSON. Colonel John RUDD the Settler was formerly of the 77th Regiment and died on the 17th January 1827 and was buried at the Old Church, Ayr, Scotland. Frederick William RUDD was on the 27th January 1805 at Goa in India and it is believed he died in or about the year 1834 in the Island of St. Vincent, a bachelor and intestate. (NOTE: According to Anglican Church Burial records for St. George’s Cathedral in Kingstown, a William F. RUDD, age 29, was buried in Kingstown on 26 January 1834). It is believed that a settlement was executed on the marriage of John Wilcox RUDD to Jessie Love BELL on 11 June 1839. a settlement was also believed to have been executed on the second marriage of Jessie Love RUDD (formerly BELL) to John COCKSHOTT on 26 July 1849. Sarah Ellen HODGKINSON married George HODGKINSON of Totley Hall Derby on 21 June 1833 and went to Australia where she died on 17 June 1858 at Melbourne. Information is desired if a settlement was made on her marriage. Samuel Elboden RUDD was born 22 October 1811 and is believed to have died on 27 June 1839 in Kingston, Jamaica, a bachelor and intestate.

SMITH, William
ESTATE SETTLEMENT

In the goods of William SMITH, the Younger, deceased.
Matter to rescal letters of administration granted by the Supreme Court of Judicature in St. Vincent.
William SMITH died in St. Vincent on 01 April 1900, on the occasion of Richmond-hill house being destroyed by fire.
At the time of his death, there were deposited in a certain box at the Colonial Bank at Kingstown certain deposit receipts and other documents in his name, but which were, in fact, part of the estate of his brother, Mr. George SMITH, Q. C., who died intestate in St. Vincent on April 18, 1894, and William SMITH was appointed estate administrator.
The widow of George SMITH, Mrs. Elspet SMITH on 28 June 1901 obtained letters of administration of the William SMITH estate from the same tribunal, limited to the moneys on deposit at the Colonial Bank and to certain securities in the Colonial Bank of New Zealand, being property of George SMITH, standing in the name of William SMITH.
