St. Vincent Sports Complex Facing Cricket World Cup Deadline

Two weeks and counting. That’s how long workers in St. Vincent have to finish repairs to the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, in time for Cricket World Cup warm-up matches. Those matches are scheduled to take place between March 5 and 9.
The project has been running far behind schedule, and it’s feared the complex won’t be ready. When completed, Arnos Vale promises to be a world-class facility, but in its current condition, it’s in a race against the clock. A new double decker stand to hold 5,000 fans is still not finished, along with a four-tier media centre, and the playing surface is even in question.
Specator turn-out for test matches has been very poor, and teams have complained about a poor playing surface.
If the surfaces for the World Cup warm-up matches are similar, complaints are expected from teams representing Australia, England, Zimbabwe and Bermuda.
