Looking for information on Latham from Mespotamia. He would have been my grandfather on my father’s side. He has two sons and a daughter that I know of. One son Levi ‘Sonny’ Latham is my biological father. He also has a sister named Cynthia. Grandfather Latham was involved in politics in Mesopotamia. Any information would be helpful.

Looking for someone who knew Donald sutherland died 1959, married to Agnes Miguel. He died from a bike accident in Fountain.
I am his last daughter and does not know what he looks like. I am now in my 50′s and I am still haunted by the desire to see what was his image was like here on earth. I was 5 yrs when he died.
Maybe someone has a photo of him or can impart what kind of man he was.

Once you kn ow the information about his year day and month, mother/father etc you can get one at the Registry for $ 15.00 , but I can’t say if they would have it from so far back but you could try.

My grandfather name was Manuel Jose’p Gonsalves.Manuel first wife name was Mary Da costa , they both had one daughter named Rita Gonsalves. Manuel second child was a son out of wedlock with Matilda John named Joseph Lancelot Gonsalves he is my father…. Manuel second wife name was Emma Gibson from that marriage there were three sons Malcom, Sony,Christian…. three daughters Kitty, Eloise and Angela…my dad Joseph Gonsalves was a police officer he died when i was a teen,he was married to my mother Melvina Alexander of Rose Bank they both had four daughters and one son… first! i am not sure if my grandfather was born in st vincent.and i have uncle, auntie and cousins (blood relatives) out there…. would be great if we meet…

I’m looking for my Mom…she was in St. Lucia when she made me and went by the name Rosalie Ford, but in St Vincent where her family is from I think her last name was Brown. I have a picture of her, my brother said when he was small she use to live in a place called beckway (could be bequia) and the family ran a gas station Shell. I havent seen her since I was like 7 years old…I am now 31 years old. she left when I was very young and I was told by my father that she lived on an island near St. Vincent. She has a son my brother name Jonathan English..I have a picture of him in a school uniform wearing a royal/navy blue shirt. I really want to find her but I don’t know where to start. The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is currently researching the life and career of a major benefactor of education in Wales of the nineteenth century, the London-born Welshman Thomas Phillips (1760-1851). Phillips owned the Camden Park estate on St Vincent from at least the early 1820s to his death in 1851. Very little is known of Phillips’ life and career. Any information about Phillips and trhe estate would be very gratefully recieved

My great great great grandfather, who was originally from Peebles, Scotland, lived on SVG in 1846. I have a letter he wrote to his wife dated 13th March 1846. At the top of the letter, he wrote the place in which he was living called Havihall Estate. The letter talks about his daily life and he mentions pigs and chickens and eggs, so it seems like it might have been a farm??? Does anyone have any idea how I might find out more about Havihall Estate? Would love to know what brought my great great great grandfather to SVG, besides the awesome weather!

It’s extremely difficult getting easy access to information about some of our ancestors who may have been slaves. Names were changed, they were sold, traded, given as gifts, and separated from their own families. It was not until around 1811/1812 that England demanded registration of slaves in its territories. And even then, many times all you get is a first name.

I would try ancestry.com’s slave register records which are free to access.

Just type in the particulars. Perhaps Robinson was his owner’s name?

My suggestion is that you don’t start with him. Work backwards starting with your grandparents, etc. Where were they born? That would place your great grandfather in a specific location. Look into civil records. I have some records that span from 1765-1850, but that’s only from St George’s in Kingstown, St Vincent.

Just so that you’re on the right path with place names, Barley is really Barrouallie. Maybe that will help you out for starters. I have a Slack on my tree from St Kitt’s who married my Vincy cousin but that’s the extent of it.

Strange….i just took a try and looked at my extensive family tree and came across two Primrose men. That’s not a name you hear about everyday. One was a Scottish Rev. Dr. Primrose (no dates for him) who had a son named John Primrose Esq. (maybe a lawyer?) John married Elizabeth Arrindell on May 2, 1849.

Details of their marriage was published in The Times(London) on July 1, 1829 as follows:

Elizabeth (Eliza?) Arrindell, bride was the daughter of the late Isaac Arrindell, Esq. of Bequia and sister to the Hon. Richard Arrindell, one of the members of His Majesty’s Council of that colony.

John Primrose, Esq., groom was son of the Rev. Dr. Primrose, Minister of Prestonpans.

Actual marriage took place in St. Vincent on May 2

Hi Simon, I am also related to Ebenezer Theodore Joshua. I knew the family quite well as I was born in Georgetown.I was always in his house at Bayside near to the “Progress Hall” adjacent to the Anglican Church Rectory. His wife Ivy was very good to me as a child growing up in Georgetown. The Sugar Factory in Georgetown was dynamited during his period as a Politician. I remember that this was accredited to a Lenny Bynoe & others in Georgetown. As a child I was estatic that this happened only because I was let off school for a few days because the police went around with loudhailer, warning parents not to send their children to school because of the riots. (Dr Childs at Montague House) I believe her husband was hurt or something during the riots and she had to attend to many of the wounded. Corwin/Fraser/Rodgers.
