BRAHAN, Maurice - SALE OF PROPERTY/WILL, To be sold by Auction on the first day of May next, between the hours of 11 o’Clock in the Forenon, and 2 o’Clock in the Afternoon of that day, opposite the Court House in the Town of Kingstown, by order of the Trustees named in the Will of Maurice BRAHAN, Esq; deceased, All that Sugar Plantation late of the said Maurice BRAHAN, situate near Princes Town in the Parish of St. Patrick, in the said Island of St. Vincent, known by the name of the REVERSION ESTATE, containing 77 Acres or thereabouts with the Buildings thereon, consisting of a Boiling House, Curing House, Still House, Stone Rum Cellar, Stone Worm Cistern, Cattle Mill, a large and commodious Dwelling House, Manager’s House, Sick House, Kitchen and necessary out Buildings, all in good repair, with all the Plantation Utensils and Implements, together with 52 Slaves, Male and Female, 10 Mules, 1 Mare, and 7 Head of Cattle. Conditions of Sale, one third part of the purchase Money to be paid immediately on the Purchaser being declared, one third part on the 1st day of February 1788, and the remaining third part on the 1st day of November 1788, the Purchasers to be let into possession of the Estate on the 1st day of June next; but not to have a Conveyance until the whole of the Purchase Money is paid. GORDON, Robert - PROPERTY IN CANADA, Robert (John) STEWART, Lieutenant and Peter GORDON, Esq., Major. After 1775, John STEWART, M.D. (Or M.P.), perhaps the same man, is listed as proprietor with GORDON, then in 1781 one half was sold for payment of arrears in quit rent then restored. In 1783, one fourth was granted to Loyalists. Again a John STEWART is listed as proprietor of half of this lot or of Lot 18. In 1785, one of the proprietors is listed as Robert GORDON, Esq., of the Island of St. Vincent.

YORICK has a small sore on his chin, speaks a few words and will be able to tell where he belongs. Whoever takes up said Negroes and sends them to their owner, shall receive a suitable reward. It was located near the island’s shipping port of Calliaqua off the Windward high road. After his death, Catherine FRENCH and George POWER petitioned to sell the property. The local commissioner named in the petition dated November 1859, was His
Honour Henry Edward SHARPE. Individuals to be notified of the sale included: Charles Cuthbert HARRISON and Emily his wife, Emma Louisa REECE, formerly Emma Louisa STRACY, the widow and relict of Charles STRUTH, deceased, and the children (if any) the issue of her said marriage with the said Charles STRUTH, Edward EDWARDS, John Green ELSEY, Henry Hewitt KENNARD, and Thomas BROWNE, assignees of the late firm of CRUIKSHANK, MELVILLE and Company, and Robert RAMSAY, some time a partner therein. WARNER, Joseph - PROPERTY SALE, To West India Merchants and Planters — Sugar Estate on the Island of St. Vincent. — by Mr. HOGGART, at the Mart, on Friday, November 10, at 12, by order of the Trustees and Assignees of the Estate and Effects of Mr. Joseph WARNER, The Equity of Redemption, subject to the incumbrances affecting the same, of One-fourth Part or Share of certain Sugar Plantations, called the North and South Union Estates, situate in Charlotte Parish and Massiracaw Quarter, in the Island of St. Vincent: and of the messauges and buildings, negroes and other slaves, with the cattle and appurttenances, late of or belonging to the said Joseph WARNER: the estates contain together 784a. 2r. 14p., and by the last survey there were 565 slaves and 153 head of cattle upon the estates.
