Dr. James Falside (abt. 1752 - bef. 1783)

Dr. James FALSIDE was married in St. Vincent on 17 April 1777 to Anne ALEXANDER, daughter of Honorable Harry ALEXANDER. He died in May 1780 and was buried on 30 May 1780 at St. Vincent in the garden of the Alexander estate. No further information is known about Dr. FALSIDE, but he is speculated to have been born in Scotland. James FALSIDE’s widow remarried to Andrew ROSS in St. Vincent on 06 March 1783.
Dr. James FALSIDE and Anne ALEXANDER had at least one daughter whose marriage was recorded in the “Gentleman’s Magazine”, a newspaper of record during the time. This entry states: “Lt. John CARMICHAEL, 53rd Reg., m. Margaret Anne, dau. late Dr. FALSIDE, St. Vincent, 1797.”
The above marriage is also found in the records of St. George’s Anglican Cathedral in Kingstown St. Vincent for 24 August 1797.

Margaret Anne FALSIDE and John Wilson CARMICHAEL had at least three children:
Stephen Falside CARMICHAEL (physician who graduated from medical school in Scotland at Surgeon’s Hall in Edinburgh on 16 May 1825). Lived in Trinidad.
