2007 Blues Fest & Rhythms Festival

The 2007 Blues Fest and Rhythms Festival will be held at the Emerald Valley Resort in St. Vincent on Friday March 9th and Saturday March 10th, 2007.
Performers will include Grammy Award winner Stephanie Mills, Martinique’s Kassav (the Creators of Zouk), Marva Wright (The Blues Queen of New Orleans), Barbadian jazz saxophonist Arturo Tappin, and Ella Andell from Trinidad & Tobago. Local musicians will also perform including Bomani, Skarpyon, Digicel Rising Star Kyron Baptiste, steel pan player Ashley Kirby, and the Tropicana II and Akcess bands..
The Hon. Glen Beache, Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, said the March 9-10 festival coincides with ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 warm-up matches and will be held at a new location, the Emerald Valley Resort in Layou, St. Vincent. “We are very happy with the progress being made and we are looking forward to a successful festival this year,” said Minister Beache.
